Re: FART 2014
Marc - Thanks for sharing your account and your analysis of a fastest theoretical route. I found your analysis fascinating and confirms my own calculations based on a similar logic based on the log-books from my attempts, which I referred to earlier when refuting Barton's claim of a 15h6m route. Even though I didn't make an attempt last week, I'd love to meet up for a beer if that's OK, especially as I'm in town on Wednesday for a Board meeting anyway. If you would like to confirm please PM or e-mail me.MarcG wrote: Beer thoughts:
The reason we all did this was because of the beer festival. So how about a meetup over a beer and share our stories of the day? What about this Wednesday at King’s Cross/St Pancras, say around 5pm so it’s early enough for Tube_b to join? Tracktakid, can I buy you a beer?
Cheers,
Marc

Re: FART 2014
I believe the Bartons admitted there was a typo on their route. I think they still had a theoretical wr time though, as did most of us.
A beer would be great but I have a prior commitment; another time though

Re: FART 2014
I would love to meet up- but the very earliest I could make at KGX/STP is about 1915 as I finish work at 1800 in Milton Keynes. If this is a suitable option, please let me know.

Just remembered I am busy on Wednesday evening anyway

Re: FART 2014
So, to summarise
FART was completed by
Andrew & Peter Barton 17:23:53
Andrew Chilcraft 17:23:53 (tied, having taken a completely different route)
and Marc Gawley also completed on the day in an imprecise time of 16:3x:xx, having spent the whole week challenging!
FART was nearly completed by
Sam Inman and Cameron SquadronLeadereggbox (261 in 19:10:45)
FART was abandoned by
Al Brown
Iain MacNaughton & Rhys Jackson
Andi James & Damian Cook
FART is expected to return next year, organised in better time hopefully!

Dan needs to go with Iain and Rhys, seeing as he followed them all around, he should therefore count.tractakid wrote: FART was abandoned by

Do I count having done 161 as a point person?

Re: FART 2014
I got the impression Dan was skipping sections to make sure he could keep up, or to get some action shots?
And no, you don't count.

Re: FART 2014
He did every station with them as far as I'm aware - he certainly was with them whenever I was there. I was the one who went ahead. The only one he missed was Goodge Street when he got separated from the group at Walthamstow, and I waited for him at Tottenham Hale.tractakid wrote:I got the impression Dan was skipping sections to make sure he could keep up, or to get some action shots?

Re: FART 2014
Why would I have to organise them? Can't they organise themselves in conjunction with whoever they are filming?palkanetoijala31 wrote:Quite happy to let you organise it if u wish but remember I did tell you that they will be three film cameras teams so u have extra responsibility to organise them as well I was happy to take off your handstractakid wrote:fine, hijack the event then

Re: FART 2014
I don't think tractakid was asking for people to volunteer to organise it next year. He was imply stating that he would do a better job than he did this year.
