So who actually is taking part tomorrow, teaming up with who(m?) and starting where/when (if you care to divulge)?

If I understand correctly, there is:

- Palkanetoijala31, Iain and Rhys1995 starting Chesham at 0631
- Nozzacook also starting Chesham
- tractakid also starting Chesham
- I'm also starting at Chesham, but not until the 0703
- mrredrunner and squadronleadereggbox starting at Heathrow (although I thought I read they had pulled out somewhere...)

whilst tube_b has postponed his attempt.

I'm not convinced that list is wholly accurate - any amendments?

I think the pairings are Iain & Rhys and Nozza & Andi.

mrredrunner (and I assume teammate) is taking part.

Good luck Al.

If indeed the pairings are Rhys & Iain and Nozza & Andi, there's a huge speed delta in each pairing (if last year is anything to go by :x ).

Going to be point man for Rhys. Because we have to stick together. I'll be at that bus stop by 0730...

I'll be around and about, mostly on the Overground.

Watford should be my 270th Underground station visit at about 3.30pm. My total time will be approaching one year!

Edit: Ignore that, it's just wrong. My 270th station was always going to be Kensington (Olympia).

I don't know what the chances of this are, but I have just passed 6 tube challengers in the space of under 15 minutes!

Really depends. On an FNC, which I'll assume you mean, it still depends. If you are at Olympia, in Metroland or at MHE, higher than usual.

Of course, to find six tube challengers at once, simply turn up at a R15 or at a Z1 Day.

You'd have to be doing a pretty odd FNC route to pass me today! Or perhaps that's the secret, start at Clarbeston Road...

I think I went through more as a point person than some do as challengers!

Everything went hunky-dory to start with, and I bought (somewhat famously) supplies at Kenton, including 6x1.5L bottles of water for just £2.30 (that's 13p per regular 500ml bottle). Up and down the lines we went - and then it all started to go tits up.

I think, on reflection, the Olympia service is running at 10 minute intervals (02, 12, 22, 32, 42, 52). I have three main reasons for this theory:

1) We pulled into Earl's Court on a Wimbledon, and I caught something out the corner of my eye on the S7 stock leaving Platform 3. I say to Rhys: "is that what I think it is?" He turns around, Iain has a look, and we're really pissed off. It said "Olympia". The time was 1402.

2) The station supervisor told us, immediately after missing that, that the next will be in 10 minutes, which we took to mean the timetabled 1414.

3) The train we eventually got left at 1413.

Then the worst thing ever happened. After the second full ticket assessment for me of the day (why always me and not the others?) then I developed cramp in both legs whilst walking between Ken O and Shepherd's Bush. I was unable to move and had to sit down for about 10 minutes. Got going again, but legs are still very sore, even now! Then I got ahead of the others whilst they looped the loop. At Woodford, their train and the Epping train looked like it was going to be VERY tight - the Epping was 1 minute in front of the "Terminates Here". The Epping left - and the "Terminates Here" pulled in. 8 minutes lost, followed by more minutes at Epping.

Dan the cameraman then got lost and I ended up waiting at Tottenham Hale for him... in a Fulham Football Club shirt.

Then we all just went "sod it".

The S7 was the training run from Plaistow to Olympia that is booked to pass through Earls Court at 1400.
