Updated the Attendance Register to reflect my current knowledge on who's attending. Andi will be unable to get the time off, and Simon Cox (made an attempt in June- publicised on twitter/facebook) has both responded and posted on his website that he will be challenging on Aug 13. (I think it's safe to assume the forum account 'simoncox73' is him, despite not having posted.)

At work at the moment there are several circumstances which will tug at the heart strings of everybody the dispensary line manager lost both her twins in a miscarriage and now the stores supervisor daughter who works there has been diagnosed with hodgkins lymphoma.

a lot of women are also having leave because of kids summer holidays and a lot of emotions running wild I do have the day off and was pre pared to either help or be part of a team but under the circumstances I think its best if I leave you lot to have fun

In my opinion certainly that falls well under the heading of "valid excuse".

This is a Central line train to "Woodford via Hainault"- sadly, not no more!

My route planning is not going well. Some subtle timetable changes have turned tight connections into 10 minute waits, so I'm about to throw out my current plan and go back to the drawing board again. At the moment, I not sure when or where I will be starting. (I'm also assuming the the Olympia service will be running to the same timetable as the last time they ran an Exhibition service, but this has not yet been confirmed by TfL, and, given there have been other changes to the District Line timetable since then, it may not do so.)

Thanks - that's one uncertainty hopefully removed. Although, as I discovered last year, any resemblance between the actual times of the Olympia Exhibition Service and those shown in the timetable would appear extremely tenuous.

District Line tweeted me, I quote... "there will be a service running next Tuesday 13th, starts approx 10am and runs every 20 mins or so."

So, seems like it could be better than the 30 minute service on previous exhibition days if this is to be believed.

Very impressive - let's hope you can turn theory into reality.

I've now worked through the second of my major routing ideas, which turns out to be better than my first. Although, in theory it could produce a fast time, I'm not totally happy with it, as there are a number of risky connections, which if they don't work may leave me struggling even for a completion. I've still got two more ideas, for which I would like to do some detailed calculations if I have time. I've never been this close to an attempt and still not decided the basic principles of my route for the day.
