Given it's after noon on Tuesday and the 13th has a clear lead, I've gone ahead and my booked accommodation, and made other arrangements, assuming it will be that day. That said, I've not yet done any work on preparing my routing plan for this attempt. I'm assuming at the moment that I will be starting early in Chesham, but until I've done some detailed work on the current timetables I can't confirm that. I'm not sure how much things have changed since I last tried in 2012 - I know then the weekday timetable wasn't ideal for a very fast time, I had better options which worked only on a Saturday.

Anyway, hopefully I'll find time over the next couple of weeks to put together my masterplan for this attempt. Then I'll let you know when and where I'll be starting.

Date confirmed as the 13th of August.

I'm going to check if my existing route still works. If not, time to craft a new route.

I also have no idea what I was thinking with the '4 weeks'. Its 8 weeks.

Attendence register- Assuming those that voted for the 13th are still coming. Please update should the situation change.

As soon as you know you can't do it, just let me know.

Just to clarify, positions will be ranked in the following way...

Fastest completion, until slowest completion. Then, for people that don't complete, the most stations visited until the fewest stations visited in last place. Fairly standard stuff.

I've been meaning to reply to this for ages. Been really busy at home.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to decline this time as I got a week off work and am hoping to spend it down in Plymouth/Somerset with the girlfriend.

Hope you all have a fun time though :D

I'm sure your girlfriend would LOVE to spend 17 hours on the tube. Just ask and i'm sure she'd rather do this than go to smelly old Plymouth :)

I don't recommend releasing fireworks indoors.

I made an e-mail enquiry of TfL as to what District Line Olympia services they will be running during the Great British Beer Festival (13 - 17 August). This was their response:

"Thank you for your email.

I've checked whether there'll be special arrangements for District line trains to service Kensington Olympia during the Beer Festival on 13 - 17 August. A decision has yet to be made, but we will know for sure nearer the time.

Please check with us a week before the event when we'll be able to say for sure. You can do so by calling our Helpdesk on our local rate number 0343 222 1234 (7 days 08.00 - 20.00).

For your information, you can get to Kensington Olympia by using the Southern Railway or London Overground service from West Brompton.

Thank you for writing in. I'm sorry I'm not able to provide you with a definitive response at present."

I've set myself a reminder to check in w/c 5 August - so it looks like that there may still be a possibility that the Tube Race won't be feasible on 13 August.
