Re: Celebrity Spotting
I have seen only people that look similar to celebrities, BUT I tell my mates I saw Russian international Andrei Arshavin on the Central Line on my first challenge two years ago

Re: Celebrity Spotting
Thought I'd start this thread as yesterday I sat opposite Patrick Baladi (from The Office) on the Circle line. He got off at Westbourne Park.
I really wanted to jump up and do the David Brent dance. I decided not to.

Re: Celebrity Spotting
Now you mention it you should have done!
I watched the Sweeney last night and there's one shot of Ray Winstone heading southbound on the DLR where he gets off at Canary Wharf. How I would have loved to have been on that train! (even though obviously the other people on there would have been extras, I would have still loved seeing Ray)

Re: Celebrity Spotting
I saw a guy with a lightbulb hat from the olympics closing ceremony. I didn't realise what it was at the time, as I missed it the night before due to sleeping.
In other words, no.

I sat opposite Vince Cable on Wednesday, but it was a work trip, not challenging.
Held some Alternative Challenge records for a long time.

I've stood by Huw Edwards (BBC 10pm news) twice. Once at my local station and the other at White City station.

Re: Celebrity Spotting
I've had Dom Joly on my train before. I have also travelled on the same trains as Michael Palin, Jay Rayner, Deborah Meaden, and that guy who does Homes Under The Hammer. He asked me what the delay was.

I walked past Michael Palin on the London bound platform at Canterbury West. He sat in the seat behind my girlfriend on the way back to St Pancras.

Not on a challenge, but on my way to a previous nights accomodation on a challenge as I was walking upstairs to exit the station I have seen BoJo running down the steps to the tube!

Re: Celebrity Spotting
I've thought of some more.
I saw Leslie Grantham (Dirty Den) on the train at East Croydon just the other night. Except i didn't know who he was as i don't 'do' soaps, remember? Vicki pointed out who it was. Another one of the passengers asked to have their photos taken with him.
Saw Patrick Moore coming up the escalator at Warren Street one day, many years ago.
Sat opposite Celia Imrie (actress) once back at Ken Olympia through to Clapham Junction when they were still Silverlink trains, not Overground.
And coming home out of Waterloo many years ago, a drunk Chris Tarrant on his way home to Esher was having other drunk people walk past him thinking it was hilarious to be the 100th person to say "Are you getting this train home Chris? is that your final answer?" and he smiled at them all, even though you could tell he really wanted to say 'Fcuk off you twats.'
That's it. I'm out.

I once saw both Ken Livingstone and Michael Aspel on the same day (not together though). I've seen Boris on his bike a few times as he lives quite near my office.
Soon to be yet another forum train driver
