Turnaround time at end of line?

Post by andytube »

What's the usual turnaround time for a tube train when it gets to the end of the line, such as MHE, Chesham or Epping, for example?

Is there usually another train waiting to go?

Certainly not at stations such as MHE or Chesham - they only have one track/platform!

So how long would the train sit there for, before going back the other way? (Not just MHE or Chesham, but at any of the end of the line stations).

Chesham - about 8-10 mins
MHE - about 5 mins
Epping - usually 2-4 mins
Uxbridge - can be 0 mins if another train is there but can take 5 mins or longer
Brixton - I've do it in 10 seconds but usually 2 mins

I've seen trains at Chesham for 12 minutes! If you're quick enough you can be lucky also to get a 0 minute turnover at Watford.
