I will personally miss the A-Stock. When they confirm the last journey for them I'm on that train no matter what!

Looks like those movements will be the four spare trains being taken to Northwood sidings to be loaded up for their final journeys up to Rotherham.

For those of us who aren't versed in rail acronyms, will they be carrying passengers at all during the moves, or are they running light all the way?

My guess is they won't be in passenger use.

Did anyone on here manage to get tickets for the final tour? I was interested, but £40 seemed a bit steep for a journey I could have happily made any day of the week less than a year ago! Certainly disappointed to see that the tour is to be nothing more than a run around the Met.

Tickets Obtained! :)

A- Stocks have been out on a couple of movements recently - most not for passenger use, but one (8-car) was out last Wednesday, fully in service in the evening - apparently, to replace an S which needed a deep-clean...

Other sources possibly suggest that some of the S-Stocks are suffering cracked bogies. but due to the number of As that have been scrapped, they will be "replaced" by S7 stock +1 extra carriage while the works take place.

The T717 Is just a train number used to move the trains from Neasden depot to the siding at northwood the train runs as empty coaching stock as it will have been stripped of all usable parts so they can keep the mets rail adhesion train going.
The rail tour has to stay on the Met due to clearance issues with the A stock as it is wider than all other tube stock.

I believe the current plan is for an A-stock to run all day in passenger service on Wed 26th Sept for those who don't want to pay £40 for the official tour.
