Re: Prague Tram Challenge

OK. Route planned. Timings worked out. There aren't too many tight interchanges and I've allowed time for loo breaks. Barring storms and unexpected delays, I think I can do all 277 stops in around 13h15m. Following on from discussions on the Brum R15 thread, I won't be pressing the button for the re...

Re: Prague Tram Challenge

Where there are a cluster of stops serving different lines but which have the same name, I've counted that all as one stop, e.g. I.P. Pavlova, which has eight different lines and who knows how many different platforms.

Re: Prague Tram Challenge

Came up with a route then thought I'd check the key for the tram stop symbols. Turns out there are 14 stops which only work in one direction. Have now come up with a route which covers everything - starting in the wilds of the south of the city and finishing not too far from my hotel. Need to work o...

Re: Prague Tram Challenge

Did anyone do the tram challenge? I'll be in Prague in a couple of weeks for a conference so thought I'd try it. Would be a great way to see the city, especially the areas tourists don't normally go to. Currently downloading maps and timetables to try to work out a sensible route. Have also got a ro...

More info on the changes, we only have to wait until 2023 for the full service to be reinstated: Dear ----, We contacted you in November to advise of changes to Central line services from Sunday 26 January 2020. Whilst the changes to the service will provide benefits to many of you, we do recognise ...

Re: Zone 1 challenge training

Apologies for the long post, but if you get to the end, it'll be worth it - honest! Well, training was a bit rubbish. Managed to get out of bed early enough to start at 8.17, but it all went downhill from there: a Bakerloo line train sat outside Elephant & Castle for two minutes; a lovely interchang...

Re: Zone 1 challenge training

My friend has invited me to travel in the cab on her second train of the day - I'm a little bit excited about this 8) Only a little??? That would be British understatement. Actually I'm bouncing off the walls with excitement and feel like a five-year-old waiting for Christmas Day to arrive :...

Re: Birmingham R15

I have now created a link to a pack with contains a "tube-style" map I created and timetables which cover all routes and stations which could come out. Let me know if anyone has any issues accessing it - https://drive.google.com/open?id=1YWFD2ush3vQRJcH9PrYDV9knhLSFsLHN Lovely bit of work there. Un...

Re: Zone 1 challenge training

Slight change of plan - have to be at Edgware Road by 11.30, so might do half the route in the morning and half in the afternoon - pausing the clock at an appropriate point.

My friend has invited me to travel in the cab on her second train of the day - I'm a little bit excited about this 8)

Zone 1 challenge training

There are no engineering works/closures on the Underground tomorrow (more than can be said for the Overground)! I've decided it's about time I stopped checking my preferred Zone 1 challenge route online, and actually attempt it for real. Given my fitness levels and a Saturday service, I'm hoping to ...

Re: Zone 1 start/finish?

Sorry if this has already been discussed elsewhere, but can anyone confirm that the number of stations in a zone one only challenge would be 68 in total? In some places it says 64 or 61 but I don't think those are right. (I assume the Zone 1 challenge includes stations that are in both zones 1 and ...

Re: Random 15 Championship 2019/20: Round 3

In the meantime, Sarah and I are seriously considering Hugo's bonkers IKEA challenge ... I've never been to IKEA. If you've never been exposed to IKEA before, I'm not sure five in one day is good for your health. Luckily, Sarah is a veteran IKEA shopper. Just hope our relationship survives the day :D

Re: Random 15 Championship 2019/20: Round 3

Proper write up time: My route: Stratford -> Bethnal Green LU (bus 106) -> Hackney Central -> Hampstead Heath (bus 168) -> Belsize Park -> Camden Town -> Tufnell Park -> TCR -> Bank (walk to) Cannon Street NR -> London Bridge -> Stockwell -> Oxford Circus -> Paddington -> Bayswater -> Paddington (wa...

Re: Random 15 Championship 2019/20: Round 3

... Also at Central were Kev and A2 who had caught a bus from Bethnal Green LU, and Jenny (not sure how she got there). I was on the bus too. This was a lucky mistake - I thought I was getting a bus down to Bethnal Green overground, but had come out of the wrong exit of the LU station. I was puzzle...
