Re: Roads Streets and Lanes - Tim Brooke-Taylor

Is the plan to do this as the Cannon Street run, or is that just a possible idea that we're toying with? I have a nice route for this challenge, but you will not be surprised to learn that it doesn't start at Cannon Street! The Cannon Street run in 2022 is scheduled to be Roads, Streets and Lanes. ...

Re: Roads Streets and Lanes - Tim Brooke-Taylor

How would this work? Can we start anywhere, as we'll all finish at the same point? (Working on a route now) That was what I was thinking. Yes you can EXCEPT on Talk Like a Pirate day where the Cannon Street start is fixed... Excellent! I'm going to have to do some serious thinking on a route from C...

Re: Roads Streets and Lanes - Tim Brooke-Taylor

I'd be up for this. Haven't looked at a possible route for this one yet. Will give me something to do for the next few weeks.

Great idea by the way :D

Re: Random 15 Championship 2019/20: Round 4

I'll be spending Saturday afternoon working on an FNC route, so it's ready for Tube Olympics Marathon in the summer. Any tips gratefully received. Current thinking is to do Heathrow -> NW corner to give best chance of completion, staying overnight at Yotel in T4 so can get optimum sleep before the s...

Re: Random 15 Championship 2019/20: Round 4

Normally I would do the opposite of anything Boris suggests, but this time it's different. The advice is against any unnecessary travel especially in London, which is ahead of the rest of the country in confirmed cases. And as much as I love these events, I can't claim it's necessary. We've also can...

Re: Cologne/Bonn Two-City Challenge

Great effort and write-up! I've got a friend in Heidelberg who's just got her husband and sons interested in challenges. She sent them off on a random 15 challenge of bus/tram stops on Monday, which they loved. Her husband finished last as he missed out a stop  I'll send this on to them to see ...

Re: Birmingham R15

New route planned - have checked the trains I would have taken and they've run on time so far, now following in real time. Tight doubleback coming up and train running a couple of minutes late

Re: Birmingham R15

Lovely theoretical loopy route based on the map - didn't actually fit with any of the train times :D Will have another bash when I get home later (and then check it against the times the trains actually ran).

Good luck chaps!

Good luck everyone - hope the rain doesn't cause any problems! Will you be putting the list of stations up on the forum on Saturday morning? Would be fun to do the challenge virtually, especially as Dave has done all the work with maps and timetables. Yes we will be putting up a stations list on he...

Re: Non-LU Record Times

you could add my Prague Metro time to this, 2:56:26, back in 2009 Done the Prague Metro earlier to day in a time of 2 hours, 41 minutes and 20 seconds! Managed a good time dispite the snow and the cold. Yesterday, I did this in 2:27:56 (no snow or cold). An extension has been built to line A, from ...

Re: Prague Tram Challenge

I don't think I will be back in Prague until June - I usually have a spare day when I'm there and I was wondering what to do this time. If you do it, you'll definitely beat my time: 14 hours 56 minutes. After a cock-up with my route planning, I had to go back out after dinner to get a completion. W...
