The tram to Morden Road is only every 10 minutes and even when you get there it is still at least 5 minutes walk away from Morden LU.

Unfortunately the PDF timetables produced by the TfL Journey Planner are often completely inaccurate. The N15 actually has 4 buses per hour. The correct timetable can be found at http://www.busmap.org/tt4/N015.pdf

Full timetables for all LU lines are in the TfL Journey Planner http://journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk

The Olympia service is a bit of a pain as rather than just a simple every 15 minute service the intervals can be anywhere between 12 and 18 minutes, and that assumes they are running on time.

We all started at St James's Park. Hakan and Patrick were the winners in 2:56:51, Erin and I were second in 2:57:05 and Geoff and Neil were third

I would advise that you go via Reading even if you live in Crowthorne as it is much quicker. The 1043 from Crowthorne connects into the 1056 from Wokingham but this doesn't reach Waterloo until 1204 so you wouldn't get to Oxford Circus until about 1215. However if you stay on the 1043 until Reading ...

Please add me to the list of entrants for next Friday. I will be on my own - I think too many cooks will spoil the broth - although I wouldn't be suprised if some of us end up with the same route again. I assume that LU knew about the last zone 1 challenge as the BBC cameraman would have had to ask ...

Yes, I did the "bottle" in 2:09:44 on April 13th. See the thread "A tale of two record attempts"

Anthony was not the first person to come up with this route. In fact it is identical to the route used by Steve Paull when he won the first Tube Challenge last year.

Even when Shoreditch closes the chances of doing an attempt on Saturdays are very low because there are always at least two or three sections of track closed for engineering works every weekend.

Though as everyone will be finishing at different stations the first person to reach the pub will not necessarily be the winner.

The first train on the system is actually the 0440 Hammersmith to Aldgate. It's not much use though as it is so early that when you get off you'll have to wait for the other lines to start up.

A tale of two record attempts

Had nothing better to do last Wednesday than run around the Tube all day and try and get my name in the record books. Decided to go for the alphabet challenge as I have a new start to my route that I don't think anyone else has come up with before. If everything went perfectly I was scheduled to tak...

I have come up with a route for zones 1-4, starting at Hounslow Central and finishing at Burnt Oak. This takes 13hr 25min. Although I think it could be done in under 13hrs, I think under 12hrs is impossible.
