Re: Tube Olympics 2018: Event 1- Biathlon

Hello everyone. I'm impressed my login still works. On my way to just be a hanger-on.

Re: New GWR: Marc Gawley - 21 April 2011

I measure time using my own proprietary system of units: The Jumper: the average time taken for an old lady to knit a jumper (based on a sample of 89 old ladies, aged between 58 and 83). The Tescorrisainsburasdarose: the average time taken for one person doing the weekly supermarket shop for a famil...

Re: New GWR: Marc Gawley - 21 April 2011

I've pretty much given up on any realistic hope of beating the world record, but I do hope to get all stations done without relying on running, and agree with Sam that it should be possible to plan well enough so as to not rely on too many runs. I've also got an idea of a Bromley-by-Bow finish, just...

100m Sprint / Tottenham Court Road / Hello

Hello. I'm Peter. Some of you might remember me. I've just typed a load of stuff that I've lost thanks to the connection cutting off due to the phone ringing (probably due to lack of a proper ADSL filter or something0, so I'll try and remember what I just typed, and then copy and paste it into notep...

Re: Redesign the tube

Neil did not make a spelling mistake - his index finger hit the R and E keys simultaneously, thus producing RE, a typo he didn't spot when posting. I stand correected, it's an easy mistake to make  Although if you're being picky about things then it could be argued that the end result was stil...

Re: Changing at Amersham

Where are you getting those Amersham - Marylebone times from? I can't find anything in journey planner that matches this? If it is possible then the one minute connection could be tight and a huge gamble. You would need to be towards the back of the tube around carriage 4 or 5, and then it's a dash...

Changing at Amersham

Yes, I can hear you all now - "you're mad", "history has proven the Amersham start to be the only realistic way of doing it", but without going into the finer points of it now, I've got a small hunch that it *might* just possibly make sense to go out to Amersham and then come back into Marylebone on...

Hello

Nappy Yew Hear to all of you. And hi to those who remember me. In fact, hello to those who don't. I'm Peter. Popped on here for the first time in ages, and bloody hell - 17 hours 12 minutes???? That's immense - well done to Steven and Andi (I think). One question though - are things finally settled ...

Re: Tubeguru gets a new job

I did the 09.21 to Oxford yesterday and today as it happens. Tomorrow will be a slightly earlier turn - I'll be on the 05.30 to Cheltenham and back, returning from Cheltenham on the 08.31 as far as Swindon, where we're relieved by a Bristol driver. Is said Bristol driver male or female? Depending o...

Thought I'd pop my head and check you're all still alive. And after a brief moment thinking "how does this poster who's screen name I've never seen in my life recognise me?" I'm guessing you're the poster formerly known as Zeibura?

Re: Warwick Avenue by Duffy

Talking of tube-related songs, what I'd really like to do is get back into doing radio, and play a "Bakerloo Line triple-play", consisting of Waterloo, Baker Street and Warwick Avenue. That'd amuse me, that would. By the way, hello to anyone who remembers me - I've been out of the loop for bloody ag...

Well done guys. I still haven't given up hope of breaking the record, but not for a little while. Before that though, at some point, I'd quite like to give my "Well, it won't break the record, but getting around all stations before the network closes should be possible, and this'll be without walkin...
