Re: Fantastic August Race around the Tube

I'm out for these dates - away for most of mid Aug. Considering an attempt July or early Aug as soon as I get my running pace up to Andi/Geoff standards. At least it will give you guys a new target to aim for, wouldn't want to make it too easy now...

Re: Challenge schedule void!

Can add another one to the list of potential August challengers.

If it is anything like my last head to head FNC battle, should break the record pretty easily...

Re: R15 Championship 2012/13: Round 6

So we basically have to do a double Zone 1 looking for Andi travelling in both directions, as well as venturing to the random zone 2 stations that also come out. Seems a little unreasonable, and it relies a lot on luck... Haha - challenge could end up as a 6 hour-er. Double Z1 to get Andi within hi...

This is fairly common surely? Up to South Wimbledon and then run/bus to Wimbledon.

Re: Art on the Underground, Labyrinth route

Interesting to see the East Acton double bacl and then White City double back, I'd not thought of that This was derived from Hakan's computer driven route. His routeing actually travelled from Ealing Broadway to White City to double back to West Ruislip. I tweaked this to the East Action double bac...

Re: Rare Entries Quiz VI - Airlines

He's got a point ... I think it does depend. I did feel pretty bad marking some of the answers as incorrect, because as you and tractakid say, the main source for these quizzes (i.e. Wikipedia) was giving out erroneous information. For me I suppose it boils down to whether this quiz is actually a q...

Re: Rare Entries Quiz VI - Airlines

Right, here are the provisional answers and results. It looks like there were a few incorrect answers so I am open to feedback on the scoring. Anyone who feels hard done I will consider the responses and alter as appropriate. 1. Name a full member airline of the Oneworld alliance who joined in 1999 ...

Second nudge for the penultimate day.

Up the six entries now. Still a couple of the usual faces missing though...

Re: Attempt 19 - 9th November 2012

I am arguing that all completion times should be classified equally, and it is entirely the challenger's choice which day they choose to achieve their time on. Of course weekend attempts should count. Any attempt ever that involves visiting all 270 stations without using private transport should co...

Re: Attempt 19 - 9th November 2012

It really shouldn't matter whether or not it is an Olympia day. Yes they are- they choose to do it on an Exhibition day. What are you trying to say - you have said before than it shouldn't matter whether it was an Olympia day or not. Geoff and others have countered that by saying it does matter. No...

Re: Attempt 19 - 9th November 2012

The only reason a non Exhibition day would be slower is due to a faulty plan, bearing in mind that any plan, exhibition or not, can fall apart on the day. I agree it is more difficult, but it is NOT SLOWER. If the trains on the non-exhibition day all took twice as long to get from Olympia to Earl's...

Re: Rare Entries Quiz VI - Airlines

I thought it was a given that once submitted, you couldn't re-submit. You choose - you're running this one. The reason I wasn't sure was that I 'clarified' two of my answers to The Raven in the last quiz - in that my initial submission answers were ambiguous so I clarified what I was trying to get ...

Re: Rare Entries Quiz V - Formula One

except that it clearly states formula one in the thread title. Btw I think just to confirm definitively, whilst constructing the next quiz I read the rules that tubeguru kindly wrote and he did clearly state: Try not to leave loopholes in the questions, as people like me will exploit them and deman...
