Tube Relief Reunion & Tami

Sorry if there's already a thread for this lurking around somewhere else, but thanks to everyone who turned up to the reunion and to meet Tami again last night.

I've blogged the night with some pictures here.

Cheers :D

Justgiving money

Hi Jonny

Yes all of the justgiving money and gift aid is automatically forwarded to the bombing relief fund - in fact they would have received it two week after the challenge had finished.

Well done for sending in your offline amounts too.

Pictures from Tami

Hi all I've just had an email from Tami and she had uploaded a lot of pictures from Hurricane Katrina on to a flickr account. They are very good but some are very disturbing too - at the moment she has not made them public, so people who have a flickr account and who are not on her friends list will...

Where was Madonna's video for Hung Up filmed on the Tube?

Take a look at my post about this

Madonna's Hung Up Video filmed in tube carriage

Can anyone identify the carriage as it's really causing some sleepless nights

I'd be grateful if you could leave any comments in the link for the post

Cheers

Memorial for London Bombings Victims & Survivors - 3pm

Just in case people didn't know there will be a memorial service at St Paul's Cathedral today to remember the 52 victims of the attacks and the survivors. The Queen, Tony Blair, Ken Livingstone and others will be there. However, the memorial will be screened by the BBC at Trafalgar Square and will a...

Arnos Grove

And if it has already been used I am using the Bumper Harris Rule of 1910 which allows me to repeat a rule on even days only.

What a woman!

Tami Great to hear from you again, and how you manage to keep your sense of humour in all this is totally beyond me. You're an inspiration to us all. I've blogged your latest message as I know the people are still very concerned about you. Take care and somehow we'll get something out to you to repl...

How London Was Built - Tunnels & Trains episode

Some of you may have already seen the How London was Built series that was on ITV1 recently. There were two episodes that may have been of interest, one was about "Railways" and included the Leinster Gardens false house story - see my blog where imitation houses were built to disguise the cut and co...

Wapping Thames Tunnel Tour - 17th and 18th September

If anyone is in London next weekend and wants to go to a great tour of Wapping and Rotherhithe's tunnels I'd really reccommend this. It's part of the London Open House series this time and is free I think although you're asked to make a voluntary contribution to the museum's upkeep and you will need...

Good idea Paul - I know that the Evening Standard are interested in having that figure. As of the morning of the Tube Relief party we had £10,890 through the Justgiving pages - but this obviously doesn't include those that don't have JG pages and the amounts still coming in on the pages.

but my least favourite is definitely Gunnersbury; car parks, graffitti, metal. Need I say more? Totally with you on Gunnersbury - it's hideous! My favourite has to be Kew Gardens. Not only cos it used to be my home station but also cos of the pub that's virtually on the platform - great place to tu...
