Re: Post Covid FNC

I checked again and got something completely different! The 436 bus does go all the way from Oval to Battersea without a change You are probably right, it would be quicker to just travel to Kennington, Nine Elms and Battersea Park then double back to Kennington and get a Morden train, I was thinking...

Re: Post Covid FNC

Yes I was thinking of the Northern Line extension. The bus transfer was to save a double back. Until it opens though and we have WTT's to look at we won't know what is faster

I remembered that Battersea Park is on the LO but is not on the map!

Re: Post Covid FNC

Started to write my route down. Most of my transfers are buses because I'm not a good runner. I do have a few foot transfers, North Harrow to Rayner's Lane and Northwick Park to Kenton for instance. Morden to Wimbledon I've decided to do foot transfer to South Merton and Thameslink to Wimbledon. Bat...

Re: Rush Hour

Yes of course. But my FNC experience is zero because I've never done it before. However given that (when I eventually do it in 12-18 months time) it's likely to take me nineteen hours to do - the majority of which will be on a tube train, I'm expecting to hit a busy spot at some point

Re: Rush Hour

Geoff did a video on YT where he rated how 'busy' a tube carriage was. A 1 rating was completely empty, whereas a 10 was completely packed. As for trying to avoid rush hour is that actually possible. Given that you are trying to visit all 270 stations in one operating day at some point you will be o...

Rush Hour

Has Rush Hour tripped anybody up during an FNC. I'm thinking of not being able to get the first train, not even being able to get into the station, long waits at stations etc. Even what it's like doing your admin when you stop at a station and you're tube carriage is an eight or above on the Geoff s...

Re: Post Covid FNC

I'm not the best runner really (never have been, I was always the last to finish the Decathlon in High School for instance). I could probably manage a quick jog between Morden and South Merton Thameslink Station (to go to Wimbledon) but jogging to High Barnet faster than a Northern Line train no! Th...

Re: Edgware to Stanmore/Canon's Park

Since I'm going for completion and not the record, one thing I might not choose to do is taking the Heathrow Express from Terminal 4 to try and catch a Terminal 5 train as I don't want to spark a security alert!

Edgware to Stanmore/Canon's Park

On Geoff's run which was immortalised on The Tube he takes the 142 from Edgware to Stanmore but in his first Walk The Tube he (and his fellow challengers) went to Canon's Park instead. Is this simply a case of getting the first bus from Edgware whatever it might be then changing into another bus if ...

If I understand this right in order to get to Roding Valley now you must change trains onto a shuttle service from Hainault

Re: Post Covid FNC

Sorry to go off topic, but the one thing I wish about the London Underground is that it would be very convenient if there were some toilets at Mill Hill East! Unfortunately there aren't. I bet most people who do the Tube Challenge think the same thing, since you're stuck there for about 7 minutes, ...

Re: All Tube Challenge - The return of a mad idea

It is possible to do this even not paying for the tube. I will prove this one day. I'm a house elf (not literally you understand) so I follow instructions meaning I wouldn't do the challenge without paying, and the cost of the ticket is quite reasonable considering it let's you visit the entire net...

Boston MBTA was done in 7hrs29min46sec by Dom DiLuzio and Alex Cox on 18th August 2017.
Adham also did the Copenhagen S train system in 5hrs55min05sec on 26th February this year
