Re: Eurovision 2019

I shall be doing my usual Twitter commentary tomorrow night, I go into the final blind so I can 'react' to it without pre-conceptions. Glad there is a bit of a mixed bag and I hope some outrageous performaces/staging/costumes/entourages/commentary for me to rate or slate! :D

Re: Tube Challenge parkrun league...

Did Henley Wood, Oswestry parkrun this morning. 2 laps with a mixture of tarmac, woodland trail and grass and some tight technical bits. Enjoyable but the heavy rain last night meant some areas were very slippery and trail shoes were definitely required! As I wasn't wearing any, an energy-sapping ru...

Re: Tube Challenge parkrun league...

Me and Andi both ended up at Pont y Bala as it's not far from my parents and Andi needed to complete (again) the Full Ponty. An out-and-back twice along a flat path by the 2 rivers in Bala. Great bunch of people, stunning weather for it and gorgeous scenery in the background to top it off. Not parti...

Re: Tube Challenge parkrun league...

Managed to get to Camperdown parkrun (although a little early forgetting to check that it was a 9:30am start!). 1 lap in a figure-of-8 mainly along woodland trails and paths with some decent elevation change and a long hill that feels like it keeps getting steeper at the back of the course. Would de...

Re: Tube Challenge parkrun league...

As I am heading up to Dundee this weekend as part of All The Buses - National Express Xplorer (why do I say yes to these things?!?!), I shall hopefully be attempting Camperdown Parkrun on Saturday!

Re: Tube Challenge parkrun league...

Wow, what a windy Parkrun, 45mph SW is not what is needed for Worthing Parkrun. I had planned to do Guildford or East Grinstead in an attempt to avoid the wind, but a last minute change of plans as Ping Pon was given Saturday off, so I decided to do Worthing with him instead. I'm pleased to say tha...

Re: Random 15 Championship 2018/19: Round 4

I was wondering... Is there an official policy on the use of electronic aids in Random 15? For a while, I've been working on general "Metro" route planning software, on a purely personal basis. Calculating a route for multiple stops, the "travelling salesman problem", what you need for a Random 15,...

Re: Tube Challenge parkrun league...

My plan for my first Parkrun in a while was scuppered when we had to visit a good family friend who is quite ill at the moment. On the plus side, it was nice to see him :D

I think that was for Round 5 (as we will be finishing at Greenwich)?
That was my understanding as well as it is easy to get to from Greenwich (due to its close proximity to Southwark/Waterloo East/Blackfriars station)

Re: Random 15 Championship 2018/19: Round 3

The new London Connections map is very much available in its usual printed leaflet form, current issue has a light blue cover. You will have more of a chance of obtaining a copy at a National Rail station, I have seen them readily displayed in timetable racks at several larger stations. I grabbed a...

Re: R15 Analysis

Updated to end of Round 2 of 2018/19 Championship.
  • Paddington (D&C) moves into a clear 2nd place with 11 appearances.
  • Vauxhall joins in the large group behind it on 10 appearances.
  • Shepherd's Bush was one of the 4 'longest drought' stations until it was drawn in Round 2.
