Re: Kensington olympia new regular service?

Could I suggest this 'virtual transport race' should have its own thread (perhaps in the 'games' area of the Forum)?

I've been contemplating whether to post a similar idea of my own, but it's somewhat complicated!

Re: Zone 1 Challenge Cup 2020

The Deputy Chief Medical Officer said today it would be about 6 months before things really return to normal, so I think if we're lucky the next Tube event might be the Cannon Street Run.

Re: Kensington olympia new regular service?

Whilst it would clearly be both inappropriate and inadvisable to attempt a FNC in current circumstances, I notice the Mayor of London has now announced that the Tube will be running a Saturday service on weekdays - if this applies to all lines, it will mean a much greater service frequency to Kensin...

Yes, Tube Challenging is probably the most unnecessary of all unnecessary travel!

Re: Random 15 Championship 2019/20: Round 4

Whilst I can't make it (unless the other event I was already down to do is cancelled!), personally I don't think I'd be wanting to do a Challenge in current conditions - right now I'm happy to avoid as many people as possible!

I probably won't try Docklands again in a hurry [ambiguous phraseology!] because I am happy to rest on my personal laurels.
Remember though, it's one of the rounds of summer Tube Olympics...

Re: Cologne/Bonn Two-City Challenge

Manchester and Liverpool between them used to have a tram network that stretched from the Irish Sea to the Pennines. Now THAT would have been a challenge!

Sounds like I did pretty well to manage to catch a Coventry-Kenilworth-Leamington almost by accident on my way back from the NEC last Novemeber then!

Re: Top Times - DLR Challenge

Given that there are only really two routes (4 if you do them the other way round!) with minor variations around Bank/Tower Gateway, you've now got me wondering if you've discovered something truly radical....

Re: Birmingham R15

Might it not work out cheaper still for someone to catch the Chiltern service to Leamington, buy their DayTripper plus there, then catch the next train to Birmingham (that doesn't go via Coventry!)

Re: Random 15 Championship 2019/20: Round 3

promptly got lost looking for Edgware Road (Cir) . Easily done - I remember on one R15 I'd got off to a blinding start until I tried to do the ER(Bak)-ER(Circle) run, having never done it before... I managed to run past it, then, not seeing any sign of it in the distance, got on a bus(!), only real...

Re: London Bus 24

I'm intrigued by this one - I'm trying to see if it could be done in Reading! Couple of queries about the rules: 1) Must the buses be done in numerical order? 2) I assume the complete route must be travelled rather than just one stop (otherwise it's just a fairly simple scaled down version of All Th...
