All the threes, 33:33. (Stopwatch) BINGO!

Not a completed Stopwatch BIngo, but another number nearer. As if to prove how random this is, the time by my own stopwatch was 33:54.

Re: Dastardly difficult trivia quiz

Does Portsmouth South count? Within the last 40 years it has had 5 different individuals as MP. 3 were Conservatives, 1 Labour (the current MP) and the fifth was Mike Hancock who was first elected for the SDP, then later elected as a LibDem and who stood as an independent after resigning from the Li...

Re: Random 15 Championship 2019/20: Round 3

If Hackney Wick was drawn and I took the rail replacement service from Stratford, would that count as visiting Stratford? Or do we need to leave on a physical train? What Stratford is the official one that needs visiting / departing from - LU or otherwise? From Tangy's description above, Stratford ...

Re: Dastardly difficult trivia quiz

Well, the summit of Chimborazo in Ecuador is the furthest point on the Earth's surface from its centre, but I don't know what point lies diametrically opposite. EDIT: Appears to be here . No idea how far that is above sea level though. This is the answer I have. The bulge at the equator dominates, ...

Re: Dastardly difficult trivia quiz

If I start digging a hole (albeit theoretical) when do I stop being on PLANET Earth?

A Challenge has the general idea, but there are specific points.

Re: Dastardly difficult trivia quiz

Line of sight isn't needed. You just need the longest straight line between two points on planet Earth.

Re: Dastardly difficult trivia quiz

An aeroplane taking off from any point on the globe and flying in a straight line will eventually get back to where it came from (given sufficient fuel on board, obviously). Therefore the longest straight line could in theory be drawn from anywhere right round the world and almost back to where it ...

Which TV actor has been nominated for an Emmy for playing the same character in THREE different programmes? Kelsey Grammer, who was nominated for playing Dr Frasier Crane in each of Cheers, Frasier and Wings . Where are the end points of the longest straight line that can be made on planet Earth?

Park Challenge 2030 (ish)

Thought I'd post about something Park Challenge related that was mentioned at the R15 on Saturday. The current proposals for extending the Bakerloo line towards the South East include running trains along the existing line from Lewisham to Hayes. This would make Eden Park an LU station. Map here: ht...

Bit of a guess: there are more Italian players in the Bangor City squad than in the Juventus squad?

I had a sort of milestone last Saturday. I've done 80 runs at Southsea and 20 at Portsmouth Lakeside giving me 100 total runs in my hometown of Portsmouth.

Re: Christmas Park Challenge 2019 - 14th December - Chiswick Park

I thought 14th December was R15 round 3 day: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3563, and that the Park Challenge was going to move to January to avoid Winter Wonderland.

Is there a particular reason as to why not everyone is on this list? (Me, for example)
To get on the list at https://www.parkrun.org.uk/results/mostevents/ you have to have run in at least 20 different parkrun locations.
