Re: How many ...?

Going back to the first post, it is almost dead on here now.

How does one revive it?

How do we get those old forum members interested again?

How do we get plenty of new blood on here?

Re: How many ...?

If you can run a 3:30 marathon, then you're fit! I can remember being of that standard once, not that I ever did a full marathon. When you've become a 17-stone fatty the wrong side of 40, then things are a little trickier! Do you need to worry about witnesses? Unless you're confident of challenging ...

Planning next attempt for Friday 29 June 2018

Ok, 1 year to go as of yesterday. Last Friday of June.
Planning/announcing well in advance to see if anyone else is willing to do the challenge on the same day.
I'll be starting at Upminster again on the first train of the day.

Re: How many ...?

It's very much up to each man to work out his own route. Then make a few trips to London to test your interchanges, etc. That's what makes it fun. I doubt the current record time will ever be broken, due to hardly anyone taking part these days, plus it would be a full-time job working out a record r...

Peter, I tried sending you a PM, but looks like it is still in the Outbox. Let me know if you get it.

Re: Third attempt - Friday 30th June

So much of your post sounds so familiar to me :-) (except the finish point).
Good luck, look forward to reading the write up.

Re: How many ...?

I only look at this forum once every few weeks now as there doesn't seem to be much happening. I still very much want to give my 2014 route another crack, with much better planning. But like many other people, when you have work and family commitments, it's difficult to get up to London to work on t...

Maybe you'll have to have a GoPro cam attached to yourself and film the whole thing! Just point it upwards when relieving yourself

Amersham/Chesham finish

What's the fastest time anyone has done when finishing at Amersham/Chesham?
Just wondering if I should just bin my route and start afresh?
If a sub 17:30 is easily possible, I might stick to it.

Re: TUBE 55 WORLD RECORD NO 6 NOT ACCORDING TO GUINNESS

Not been on here for a while, but that is an amazing time. Always believed that there was many more minutes that could be knocked off the record, mainly due to the fact that not many people attempt the challenge. And if more people did, then there would be more routes calculated. But sounds like you...

Re: GWR Site is reporting a new World Record time ...

I was surprised when it turned out to be an old geezer  I thought you needed to be under 35 and super fit to belt it down the hill from West Ruislip to Ickenham in about 3 minutes. And up god knows how many staircases.

Re: GWR Site is reporting a new World Record time ...

There probably are a number of attempts that take place each year that we don't know about. But it would be nice if someone could get hold of them and direct them to this forum so they can at least say hello. I took a quick look through a list of people called Clive Burgess on Facebook. None of them...
