Re: Christmas Park Challenge 2018 - 15th December - Finsbury Park

Another option is to start at Hyde Park Corner or Green Park then you would be out of the area before the main crowds arrive.

Re: Tube Challenge parkrun league...

Here is a list of the "special" parkruns https://support.parkrun.com/hc/en-us/articles/200565633-Special-Events Potentially you could do Denmark on Christmas Eve, UK/France for Christmas Day, then Germany on Boxing Day, plus the normal parkrun on 28th Dec and two on New Years Day! Then over to Russi...

Re: Random 15 Championship 2018/19: Round 6

Looks like it must have been a bug in the journey planner data as it is will now offer the District Line to Earl's Court as an option for Saturday.

Re: Random 15 Championship 2018/19: Round 6

If you try and search for West Kensington, it tells you take the Piccadilly to Barons Court and double back. I'm thinking maybe Earls Court (District) is actually completely closed and trains are terminating at West Kensington from the West and South Kensington from the East (with the Piccadilly lin...

Re: Could one train travel the entire tube network?

You are going to be passing through most stations twice, so would only need to stop in one direction, which would reduce the time needed.

You run 5km round a zigzag queue in a bank lobby.

Re: Thinking out loud

The problem is the night tube doesn't serve Terminal 4 so for a Heathrow finish it doesn't really help.

Why is it making an extra change onto the Bakerloo at the beginning instead of just going straight to Edgware Road (Circle)?

Re: Random 15 Championship 2018/19: Round 4

The first through train to Mill Hill East on a Saturday is the 2317 Kennington - Mill Hill East (via CX), arriving 2351. Admittedly that is probably not much use for an R15!

I seem to remember Hakan bringing a laptop along to one of the very early R15 challenges to plan his route?

I think that was for Round 5 (as we will be finishing at Greenwich)?

Re: Southern Daysave

I'd be very surprised if you could do all of Scotland in 2 days. Just the Far North and West Highland lines alone would take a large chunk of that time before you even start with the central belt.

Re: Tube Challenge parkrun league...

You can sort the list at https://wiki.parkrun.com/index.php/Anniversaries by start date.

Woodhouse Moor in Leeds is 4, then Richmond 5.

Re: Random 15 Championship 2018/19: Round 3

I always download the PDF, crop it to zone 2 and print it on A4 paper. It ends up at an easily readable scale. I gernerally use that on R15 rounds that don't include NR, as well. I notice that a December 2018 version is available which includes the dotted-line walkable connections like the latest p...
