Re: Sheffield Supertram

I did the rare side years ago when there was a regular service which went from Herdings to Meadowhall without diverting to the Cathedral as it does now. I think this service only ran for a brief time when this part of the network first opened - it may even have been before the last section from Sha...

(Or a geographical one warped such that the outer edges have the same station-spacing as Z1)
Or just cook your own one up for challenging. I have, but I'm not sharing it! :)

Re: Sheffield Supertram

I wonder if any of you Supertram challengers have done the rare third side of the Park Square Triangle (direct between Hyde Park and Station) which I did bash one early morning! I understand it only takes the "rare" side on its first run out of the depot, which for the route I've planned makes it e...

Nice try! You think waiting for the elusive purple tram is a pain now--wait till you've tried it a few times!

An interesting observation, though I very much doubt any time at all could be saved by doing Bank exclusive-or Monument in terms of the whole network. Now if we could just drop Chesham, for example... ;)

Re: Nottingham Transit Challenge

Hmm. I do think that is open to negotiation. Perhaps there could be an upper tier of this counting it as one and a lower tier counting it as two. As I've mentioned before I can't see how interpreting it as one stop instead of two actually offers any advantage at all (as they are so close together) ...

On-the-ground reconnaissance work taking place. Timetable analysis suggests a sub-55m time is feasible.

Re: To the trains!

Having done several full networks and hundreds of hours route planning there is no advantage on most of the key runs in being a highly primed athelete... I have done this several times in teams wher the lead man or whoever has reached the station before me has not caught an earlier train...For the ...
