Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2012

Slovakia were the only country I liked in the whole night, and they didn't get through. Boo. I guess they would have done with some added corpse paint and plate armour. Next year that band should do a collab with Kristína Peláková and they're in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kghCqyMLPFA (I'm not ...

Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2012

Within the ex-yu group Serbia, Macedonia and Bosnia all sang in their native languages. This will have helped them get points because all these languages are basically mutually intelligible and the people could actually understand the song, contrary to say Hungary's entry, which was apparently suppo...

Prague Tram Challenge

Seriously, if any of you ever come out to my new neck of the woods and think about doing the Prague Metro challenge, let me inform you that it's not really a challenge. while if you research it properly you get some good "between-ends-of-lines" views of the city, most of what you see while on the me...

Re: Basel BVB Tram Challenge

Budapest's tram system is pretty disjointed, its not really a complete network, I think there are a few sections which are separated by a bus ride. The Budapest Metro is made up of one short historic line and 2 GRIMEY soviet era ones which all interchange at one station. Doing the whole challenge wo...

Re: Basel BVB Tram Challenge

Starkey you need to get yourself over to Prague and do the tram challenge here! THAT would be a proper challenge!

Re: Tubeguru gets a new job

I've always felt it extremely cold-hearted of them not to allow what you just mentioned, Moley. After all, if a train is more than half an hour late, surely the very least that they could do would be to allow you to travel at the time you originally chose, albeit on a different train, out of common...

Re: Tubeguru gets a new job

Aha, so that's what happened :) I was in Avebury on that friday with the signalling problems and got held up somewhat at Swindon in those delays. When the train came they announced something like "because of the delays, all ticket restrictions have been lifted". We were wondering, does that mean we ...

Re: Prague Metro

2 hours 56 minutes 26 seconds is your time to beat, and that was with Zličín - Letňany - Černý Most - Depo Hostivař - Dejvická - Háje, and using one bus and one tram along the way. There are some weird and wonderful stations in this city.. I definitely recommend it!

Re: Prague Metro

I live in Prague at the moment and I've always been wondering about how long it would take, it would be easy as pie to be honest, about as challenging as the DLR challenge. If you wanted something truly hardcore here you'd have to make it the Tram Challenge Let me know if you fancy meeting up and at...
