Re: How much should a support team be allowed to do?

Maybe a good idea to actually ask Guinness to clarify what is and isn't allowed when it comes to these things, so there'll be no more confusion and the same rules for everyone.

Re: How much should a support team be allowed to do?

Can this thread just be locked now I think the same points are being raised over and over again and there is no point replying to a point already raised? Just because a number of people don't agree with you doesn't mean a thread should be closed! There are still very valuable contributions being ma...

Re: How much should a support team be allowed to do?

This is the last post I will make in this debate. It's so simple (I'll put it in red to emphasise the point): You must abide by the Guinness rules. Anything else is up to you - use your judgement to determine your actions. There's nothing more to it. So the more TfL rules you don't mind breaking an...

Re: How much should a support team be allowed to do?

As I said, there is nothing in the Guinness rules that forbids holding doors, and until there is, any agreement we reached on here would not be binding, and would be completely unenforceable anyway. Well it's not so much about the Guinness rule to me as the TfL rules that you need to oblige to whil...

Re: How much should a support team be allowed to do?

I think a support team should be able to do whatever the challengers want or need them to do. I, as an average commuter and passenger, think this is a really bad attitude. There is a big difference between running for trains and holding doors open that you seem to miss. Holding the doors disrupts t...

Re: Pic Line -> Heathrow T5

Crossrail will use the same track as Heathrow Express, though, and will be taking over Heathrow Connect.
There is speculation that it will also take over the existing Heathrow Connect and run those trains further into London.

Anyway, those aren't being constructed towards T5.

Re: Pic Line -> Heathrow T5

Pity people changing from T5 to T4 there! But Heathrow Airport is already working on its own little transport syste for connecting flights I think. If a hub was created, it might as well be done at T123, the biggest terminal with two tracks to the rest of the Picc. A T6 would be created north-west o...

Re: Pic Line -> Heathrow T5

My idea is to turn it all into a big loop again whenever Heathrow Terminal 6 is opened like so: http://users.telenet.be/sweek/files/heathrow.png The grey bits are disused, the red bits are new. This is the easiest way to turn it into one big loop, allowing for longer stops at both T5 and T123. The l...

Re: Redesign the tube

This is an old one I once made . It replaces the current Circle line with a new one that connects all London terminals and a number of other main stations. Aldgate is left with only one station, and Aldgate-Whitechapel is four-tracked to provide a frequent and reliable H&C line, which is cut back t...

If both the terminal itself, the station and the train are all working as planned, then yes, that would be the date. The in-train stickers and announcements would also change on that day.

I think you could even make it a tube map all lines challenge, including both the London Overground and the DLR.

Great looking stationn and nice and frequent trains. 8 points: Euston: I usually have good connections here and I can make my way through the crowds nice and quicklly. 7 points:...

I just asked a Bakerloo line service controller, who says that it is pretty much a certainty that the Bakerloo is going to be re-extended to Watford Junction. He's also mentioned long-term plans for a south-eastern extension via Camberwell to Hayes.

London Midland does accept PAYG on their trains between Watford and Euston now, so it probably has something to do with Virgin.

Probably has something to do with all the other train companies that call at Watford Junction that want to protect their revenue.
